Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.03%, while the index added 0.64%, and the index fell 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the were Covestro AG (ETR:), which rose 2.41% or 0.99 points to trade at 42.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) added 1.91% or 3.50 points to end at 186.85 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:) was up 1.87% or 2.18 points to 118.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:), which fell 2.99% or 2.04 points to trade at 66.20 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:) declined 2.31% or 0.64 points to end at 27.08 and Merck KGaA (ETR:) was down 2.23% or 4.40 points to 192.60.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which rose 5.17% to 9.26, Fraport AG (ETR:) which was up 4.86% to settle at 50.46 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 4.32% to close at 18.95.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 5.04% to 57.50 in late trade, Encavis AG (ETR:) which lost 4.25% to settle at 17.92 and Stroeer SE (ETR:) which was down 3.29% to 49.32 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 4.32% to 18.95, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which was up 2.69% to settle at 24.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which gained 2.65% to close at 29.44.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 5.04% to 57.50 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which lost 2.83% to settle at 22.32 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which was down 2.24% to 2.53 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 344 to 340 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Airbus Group SE (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.87% or 2.18 to 118.50. Shares in Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.17% or 0.46 to 9.26.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.08% to 18.32.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.19% or 3.65 to $1,906.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.65% or 0.52 to hit $79.93 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.84 to trade at $85.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 102.13.
